Specialty Pharmacist - 18-mo Contract - Specialty Compounding - Burnaby, BC - Healthcare. Are you a Licensed Pharmacist looking to work in a unique setting, gain training and experience in sterile compounding? In this role, you would work a 30-hour work week (28 paid hours per week) - working every Monday, Tuesday, Friday and either Wednesdays or Thursdays (set day) from 8am - 4pm (with a 1 hour break - 30 mins paid, 30 mins unpaid)? There is an on-call rotation (every ~3 weeks) to support phone calls that may come in after hours - on-call is shared between all pharmacists. Start date is ASAP offering, crossover time for training for the new hire. Job Responsibility:
Oversee the daily preparation and dispensing of medications to ensure full compliance with federal and provincial pharmacy regulations
Provide clinical oversight by performing patient counseling, maintaining detailed documentation, and ensuring high standards of pharmaceutical care
Lead and prioritize the production workflow, using professional judgment and standard operating procedures to meet critical patient needs
Supervise technical staff and coordinate pharmacy tasks with the distribution and order entry teams
Perform and validate quality assurance procedures to ensure all products meet corporate and professional accuracy standards
Support production activities, including compounding, when required by workload or emergency after-hours needs
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to clarify orders and resolve pharmacy service issues
Participate in clinical and quality improvement initiatives to enhance facility operations and equipment use
Requirements:
University degree in Pharmacy (B.Sc.Pharm or PharmD)
Active license to practice pharmacy in British Columbia (BC College of Pharmacists)
Minimum of two years of recent hands-on clinical or homecare experience (any setting)
Ability to participate in an after-hours on-call rotation (approximately every 3 weeks)
Strong multitasking skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities
Nice to have:
Prior experience with Kroll pharmacy software preferred
Experience in a hospital or outpatient setting preferred
Previous experience with IV compounding or infusion therapy preferred
Certification to administer injections preferred
