Job Description

Provides technical claims handling within agreed authority levels.

Job Responsibility

  • Prompt and accurate claims handling in full compliance with external and internal minimum standards, policies and procedure
  • Handle claims within authority and seek and maintain necessary approval from line manager for handling claims above authority

Requirements

  • Good LOB-specific claim knowledge
  • Knowledge of the respective claims environment (as applicable)
  • Technical knowledge – legal principles, policy wordings, (re)insurance market practice
  • Preference for (re)insurance qualifications in progress (e.g. ACII or equivalent)
  • Background in adjusting claims independently within own authority level
  • working knowledge of relevant (re)insurance market systems (e.g. ECF / CLASS or equivalent)
  • Able to communicate confidently internal and external and experienced in meetings with key stakeholders in the business such as underwriters, actuaries, in-house legal and/or the outwards reinsurance team
