Job Description:

As a Specialized Lending Account Manager, you will be at the forefront of credit adjudication, specifically reviewing applications secured by insurance and wealth assets. Reporting to the Director of Specialized Lending Account Management & Underwriting, you will be responsible for underwriting applications in alignment with delegated lending authority and the company’s established risk appetite. This role is critical in ensuring that credit decisions are well-supported, compliant with regulatory standards, and aligned with the bank's long-term risk mitigation strategies.

Job Responsibility:

  • Review lending applications secured by insurance and wealth assets
  • Exercise delegated authority to approve or decline applications based on thorough credit analysis
  • Provide clear, well-supported rationale for underwriting decisions and recommend structural enhancements to protect the company’s position in the event of default
  • Ensure all loan applications and documentation comply with internal policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements
  • Manage annual portfolio reviews
  • Work closely with internal partners to strengthen risk practices and communicate credit decisions professionally and efficiently to diverse stakeholders
  • Maintain credit portfolio quality within established risk tolerances to minimize loan losses
  • Support a strong risk-based culture and drive improvements in origination and adjudication quality

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in commercial banking or lending
  • Fully Bilingual (French/English) with fluent speaking, reading, and writing capabilities is mandatory
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Economics, or Finance
  • Deep understanding of the financial services industry and credit risk principles
