For the role of Specialist VAS Design and Engineering we are looking for candidates with a broad range of skills.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide expertise in telecommunications, roaming and VAS services to internal teams
  • Design, architect and review telecommunications and software solutions and services
  • Validate requirements and implementations
  • Manage network capacity
  • Support the onboarding, evolution and decommission of roaming services
  • Technical lead of infrastructure and software projects
  • Support project management activities (project and risk planning, vendor management)
  • Coordinate complex technical deployments across multiple teams and technologies
  • Prepare and troubleshoot IP matrices
  • integrate OSS (FCAPS: monitoring, backup, BI data systems, etc.)
  • Define test strategies and required setups for projects
  • Prepare and review project test books and technical test cases
  • Coordinate UAT project phases and conduct performance testing of new solutions and systems.

Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of international roaming and roaming value-added services (Steering of Roaming, Welcome SMS, Virtual Home Environment, OTA)
  • Broad expertise in telecommunications and network signalling technologies (2G/3G/4G/5G), and protocols: SIGTRAN (IP, SCTP, MTP, M2PA, M3UA, SCCP), SS7 (ISUP, MAP, TCAP, INAP, CAMEL), DIAMETER (s6a y Sh) and 5G (HTTP2, JSON)
  • Good understanding of IT systems (architecture, design, databases, APIs) and software development methodologies (waterfall, agile), including software release management processes
  • Understanding of cloud and virtualization platforms (Openshift, VMware, AWS, GCP or Azure) and solid NFV cloud-native principles
  • Proven track record deploying hardware and software solutions in Vodafone infrastructures
  • Familiarity with network testing tools in general and Emblasoft Evolver in particular
  • Solid TCP/IP understanding, troubleshooting skills and packet analysis with Wireshark. Experience in web services, SOAP, SFTP, TLS, SSL certificates, SNMP, LDAP, etc.

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of STP and DRS network elements is a plus
  • Knowledge of VoLTE and IOT/M2M desirable.
