Job Description

Do you have the deep empathy, patience, and professional resilience to reshape the future of a vulnerable child? If you are an experienced care, education, or healthcare professional looking for a deeply rewarding way to utilise your expertise, this opportunity is designed for you. At Randstad, the team is currently partnering with a UK leading fostering charity to support an innovative, life changing transition programme. This specialist initiative focuses on helping young people safely step away from residential homes and move into the security of a loving, nurturing family home. Dedicated professionals are needed to provide the stable, trauma-informed environment these young individuals need to heal, feel safe, and truly thrive.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide a warm, supportive, and trauma-informed home environment for a young person transitioning out of residential care
  • Offer the unwavering patience, structure, and emotional security required to help a child navigate early trauma and past disruption
  • Collaborate closely as a core practitioner within a highly skilled multi-disciplinary team to carefully plan every step of the child's transition
  • Foster independence, confidence, and self-esteem by accompanying the young person to school, social activities, and community milestones
  • Engage proactively with clinical psychologists, social workers, and educators to ensure a unified, caring approach to the young person's development.

Requirements

  • Experience: A proven background within residential childcare, social work, child support, or education
  • Public Sector or Clinical Background: Experience across CAMHS, therapeutic practices, nursing, youth justice, or specialist policing is highly valued
  • Transferable Care: Past or present experience as a foster carer would be desirable but not essential
  • Core Attributes: Emotional resilience, profound empathy, and a natural capacity to maintain a stable, nurturing home
  • Driving: A full UK driving licence is preferred to support the young person's daily routine.

What we offer

  • Financial Support: Earn a weekly professional payment of £1,055.48, delivering an annual income of up to £54,860
  • Guaranteed Retainer: Benefit from a £420 weekly retainer during introduction phases or between placements to ensure complete financial stability
  • Rest and Renewal: Reclaim your work-life balance with 28 days of fully planned annual breaks
  • Clinical Infrastructure: Stay empowered with bespoke therapeutic training, direct psychological support, and a round-the-clock professional advice line
  • Deep Personal Impact: Move away from rigid, exhausting shift patterns into a dedicated, deeply fulfilling care dynamic.
