Job Description

Justteachers is seeking a Specialist Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant specialist school in the Blackpool area on a long‑term basis. The full‑time post is due to start in September 2026, with shortlisting currently taking place. The school provides a highly supportive and inclusive environment for pupils with a range of complex needs, including SEND and SEMH. Staff work collaboratively to ensure each learner receives personalised support to help them engage, progress and achieve positive outcomes.

Job Responsibility

  • Providing targeted support to pupils with specialist needs on a 1:1 and small‑group basis
  • Assisting teachers in delivering highly differentiated learning activities
  • Supporting emotional regulation, behaviour and wellbeing using positive, relationship‑based approaches

Requirements

  • Relevant qualifications or specialist experience supporting pupils with additional needs
  • Proven experience working within a SEND, SEMH or specialist educational setting
  • Strong knowledge of inclusive strategies, behaviour support and safeguarding
  • Two education or school‑based references
