We are seeking an exceptional Specialist Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team. You will be an integral part of our educational support team, working with children and young people who have a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN). Your role will involve providing one-to-one and small group support, assisting teachers in the classroom, and helping to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment. We are committed to fostering independence, promoting personal growth, and ensuring every student reaches their full potential.
Job Responsibility:
Providing tailored support to students with diverse SEN, including but not limited to autism spectrum conditions, learning disabilities, and communication difficulties
Assisting with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs)
Supporting students' academic, social, and emotional development
Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals
Helping to manage classroom behaviour and ensure a safe learning environment
Contributing to a positive and inclusive school culture
Requirements:
Significant experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in an educational setting
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is required due to our location and the need for potential off-site activities
Possess a genuine passion for supporting the development of young people with SEN
Be patient, resilient, adaptable, and able to work effectively as part of a team
Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Be proactive, resourceful, and committed to continuous professional development
Nice to have:
Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent) are desirable
