We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, qualified teacher to join our team of Specialist Teachers with expertise in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). We wish to appoint a committed part- time teacher for Multi-Sensory Impairment to join us to work throughout Buckinghamshire to support children and young people at home, in early years, mainstream, special schools and post-16 from 0-25 years. As part of the Specialist Teaching Team, you will play an important role in promoting the inclusion of pupils with a multi-sensory impairment across the county. You will work alongside colleagues from the Hearing Support and Vision Impairment teams. The primary objective is to ensure the effective delivery of both statutory and SEND support services for children and young people with SEND and their families throughout the county.
Job Responsibility:
Being part of a team of Specialist Teachers to ensure the effective delivery of SEND Support and statutory services
Complying with statutory regulations in the assessment and review of Education, Health & Care Plans (EHC Plans)
Supporting the strategic development of the Specialist Teachers within the SEND Service
Taking responsibility and being accountable for a caseload
Working closely with other Specialist Teachers and professionals
Providing schools with written advice following school visits, including up-to-date, practical strategies for pupils with SEND
Co-producing and delivering training on various SEND topics
Attending annual review meetings for caseload pupils and other multi-professional meetings
Working collaboratively with SEND colleagues, parents and carers
Promoting the inclusion of children with SEND
Embedding a culture of co-production and teamwork
Ensuring services provided are child-centred and needs-led
Proactively developing professional knowledge, skills and behaviours
Requirements:
Educated to degree standard with Qualified Teacher Status
Significant relevant teaching experience post NQT/ECT
Qualified teacher for Multi-Sensory Impairment or have a HI or VI qualification and be prepared to complete mandatory MSI training
Current, valid driving licence and access to a vehicle
Experience of working with children and young people with SEND and their families
Relevant experience including a proven track record of classroom teaching
Evidence of further training in Sensory Needs and SEND
Confident in providing information to schools
Confident in researching, developing and delivering training material
Excellent IT skills, particularly in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel
Prepared to continue professional development
