Solutions 4 Health are excited to offer an opportunity for a Specialist Sexual Health Nurse to join our Integrated Sexual Health Service in Doncaster. You will be part of a dedicated, multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality, person-centred care across our Level 3 and outreach clinics, helping to improve sexual health outcomes and reduce inequalities within the community.

Job Responsibility

  • Delivering nurse-led sexual health clinics, including taking comprehensive sexual histories
  • Undertaking genital examinations and diagnostic testing for sexually transmitted infections
  • Performing microscopy, making diagnoses and initiating treatment
  • Assessing contraceptive needs and providing a full range of contraception, including LARC methods
  • Fitting and removing contraceptive implants (or working towards competency)
  • Providing pregnancy testing, counselling and onward referrals where appropriate
  • Delivering health promotion, education and advice on sexual health and contraception
  • Maintaining accurate, confidential clinical records
  • Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure high standards of care
  • Supporting safeguarding processes and managing sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy

Requirements

  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) with current NMC registration
  • Post-registration experience within sexual health or a related field (e.g. gynaecology, practice nursing)
  • Experience of working in nurse-led clinics
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage a varied clinical workload
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Non-judgemental approach and ability to support patient choice

Nice to have

  • DFSRH (or willingness to undertake)
  • STIF or equivalent STI training
  • Non-medical prescribing qualification
  • Experience of LARC fitting/removal
  • Experience working with young people or vulnerable groups
  • Leadership or mentorship experience
