Solutions 4 Health are excited to offer an opportunity for a Specialist Sexual Health Nurse to join our Integrated Sexual Health Service in Doncaster. You will be part of a dedicated, multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality, person-centred care across our Level 3 and outreach clinics, helping to improve sexual health outcomes and reduce inequalities within the community.
Job Responsibility
Delivering nurse-led sexual health clinics, including taking comprehensive sexual histories
Undertaking genital examinations and diagnostic testing for sexually transmitted infections
Performing microscopy, making diagnoses and initiating treatment
Assessing contraceptive needs and providing a full range of contraception, including LARC methods
Fitting and removing contraceptive implants (or working towards competency)
Providing pregnancy testing, counselling and onward referrals where appropriate
Delivering health promotion, education and advice on sexual health and contraception
Maintaining accurate, confidential clinical records
Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure high standards of care
Supporting safeguarding processes and managing sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy
Requirements
Registered General Nurse (RGN) with current NMC registration
Post-registration experience within sexual health or a related field (e.g. gynaecology, practice nursing)
Experience of working in nurse-led clinics
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and manage a varied clinical workload
Commitment to ongoing professional development
Non-judgemental approach and ability to support patient choice
Nice to have
DFSRH (or willingness to undertake)
STIF or equivalent STI training
Non-medical prescribing qualification
Experience of LARC fitting/removal
Experience working with young people or vulnerable groups
Leadership or mentorship experience
