Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant to join a highly-regarded primary school in Crawley. This is a rare, long-term opportunity to make a measurable impact on a student's educational journey.

Job Responsibility

  • Braille Transcription: Accurately transcribing classroom materials into Unified English Braille (UEB) and vice versa.
  • Curriculum Access: Adapting lesson plans in real-time alongside the Class Teacher and SENCO.
  • Assistive Technology: Supporting the student with specialist VI equipment and software.
  • Holistic Development: Fostering social integration and emotional resilience within the school environment.

Requirements

  • Braille Proficiency: You must have a working knowledge of UEB (Unified English Braille).
  • VI Experience: Previous experience supporting children with Visual Impairments or complex SEN is essential.
  • Stability: As this is a permanent role, we are looking for a professional committed to providing long-term consistency for the student.
  • Location: Ideally based in or able to commute easily to Crawley/West Sussex.
