Job Description:

This is a unique opportunity to provide vital 1:1 support for a student with visual impairments. You will play a key role in ensuring they have full access to the curriculum, fostering both their academic progress and their independence within the school community.

Job Responsibility:

  • Transcribing classroom materials into Braille and vice versa
  • providing tailored 1:1 support
  • collaborating with Class Teacher and SENCO
  • supporting use of specialist equipment and assistive technology
  • encouraging emotional resilience

Requirements:

  • Braille Proficiency (UEB)
  • SEN Experience
  • Communication
  • Commitment

Nice to have:

  • background in youth work
  • experience with autism spectrum disorders
  • experience with learning difficulties
  • experience with social emotional mental health
  • speech and language therapy experience
