Are you an expert in UEB Braille looking for a permanent career move in West Sussex? We are seeking a dedicated Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant to join a highly-regarded primary school in Crawley. Job Responsibility

  • Braille Transcription: Accurately transcribing classroom materials into Unified English Braille (UEB) and vice versa
  • Curriculum Access: Adapting lesson plans in real-time alongside the Class Teacher and SENCO
  • Assistive Technology: Supporting the student with specialist VI equipment and software
  • Holistic Development: Fostering social integration and emotional resilience within the school environment

Requirements

  • Braille Proficiency: You must have a working knowledge of UEB (Unified English Braille)
  • VI Experience: Previous experience supporting children with Visual Impairments or complex SEN is essential
  • Stability: As this is a permanent role, we are looking for a professional committed to providing long-term consistency for the student
  • Location: Ideally based in or able to commute easily to Crawley/West Sussex
