Job Description:

Shape the Future of SEND: Nurture Teacher. Location: Chaldon, Surrey. Salary: £34,398 - £48,913 + £5,000 Welcome Bonus. Schedule: 40 hours (Early finish Fridays at 4pm). Tired of the 'Exam Factory' Pressure? If you're a teacher who loves the act of teaching but feels stifled by massive class sizes and rigid mainstream structures, this is your turning point. We opened our doors in September 2025 to provide a specialised secondary education for students (11-16) with Autism, sensory processing needs, and emotional regulation challenges. We are looking for a Nurture Teacher to help us build this school's culture from the ground up. Why move into our Nurture Team? In a mainstream setting, you might have 30+ students and limited support. Here, the maths changes: Small Classes: Focus on quality interactions, not just crowd control. Expert Support: You'll work daily with a supernumerary multi-disciplinary team (therapists and specialists) who handle the heavy lifting of interventions. Personalised Autonomy: You have the freedom to adapt the National Curriculum to fit the 'passions and projects' of your specific students. Professional Growth: As a brand-new school, the opportunities for leadership and specialist career progression are immense. The Role: You won't just be delivering lessons; you'll be building confidence. You will: Use a non-confrontational approach to manage behaviour, seeing every challenge as a learning opportunity. Collaborate with parents and specialists to bring EHCPs to life. Reflect and iterate on your teaching style within a supportive, low-judgement environment. Who are you? You might be an experienced SEN practitioner, or perhaps you are a Mainstream Teacher with a 'heart for nurture' looking to specialise. If you are patient, creative, and tired of the status quo, you'll fit right in. 'We give students every opportunity to achieve-we want to give our teachers the same.' Ready to start a new journey? ... If you want to move away from rigid mainstream structures and into a role where you have the time and resources to actually teach, we want to hear from you. Please call Paul at Randstad on 01293 527416 or email paul.hirchfield@randstad.co.uk
