Specialist Secondary School Teaching Assistant - Launch Your Career in SEND! (Redhill Area). We are seeking a driven and intellectually curious Teaching Assistant to join our specialist secondary provision (ages 11-16) in the Redhill/Surrey area. This is an exceptional opportunity to fast-track your professional development in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Our school is dedicated to supporting young people aged 11-16 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and complex associated needs.

Job Responsibility:

  • Curriculum Access: Provide direct, high-quality support to help students engage with complex secondary subjects
  • Strategy Implementation: Assist teachers in executing Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) and sensory strategies, honing your ability to follow detailed professional guidelines
  • Behavioural & Social Coaching: Learn and apply sophisticated techniques to support the development of students' social communication and self-regulation skills
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, therapists, and the wider team, building essential skills in cross-functional professional communication

Requirements:

  • A degree-level education (or equivalent relevant professional qualification)
  • A proactive, analytical, and highly resilient attitude, ready to learn on the job
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to maintain focus and professionalism in a complex environment
