Specialist Resource Provision (SRP) Teacher for a school hosting a specialist provision for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), awarded Advanced Status by the National Autistic Society. The role involves working in 'Wallaby Class', a hub of creativity, sensory support, and specialised intervention, ensuring true integration and social growth as every child belongs to both the SRP and a mainstream class.
Job Responsibility:
Delivering a personalised curriculum tailored to the unique needs of our pupils
Providing specialised instruction for children with ASD, including those with complex needs
Providing communication support for non-verbal pupils, utilising alternative communication methods (such as PECS or Makaton)
Leading intervention sessions in Social Skills, Zones of Regulation, Emotional Literacy, and Sensory Circuits
Supporting pupils as they transition between the SRP and mainstream classrooms
Requirements:
Qualified Teachers (QTS/QTLS) looking to specialise further in a high-achieving SEN environment
OR Unqualified Teachers with significant relevant experience in SEN settings, specialised ASD provisions, or communication-based roles
Proven experience working with children with ASD
Confidence in supporting non-verbal learners
A deep understanding of the sensory and emotional challenges faced by pupils with complex needs
A collaborative spirit and the ability to work alongside mainstream staff and external professionals
