Job Description

This role manages the day-to-day operations of biweekly, multi-state payrolls within a collaborative team environment to ensure accurate employee compensation. Primary functions include preparing, analyzing, reconciling, and reviewing payroll reports to resolve discrepancies and process various pay data items such as bonuses, commissions, garnishments. Key differentiators involve managing payroll tax activities including tax adjustments, complex payroll tax inquiries, and compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. Success is measured by the accuracy and timeliness of payroll tax processing, effective resolution of tax and garnishment inquiries, and adherence to internal controls and regulatory requirements. The work impacts the organization by ensuring payroll tax compliance, minimizing financial risk, and supporting employees through accurate and legally compliant payroll administration.

Job Responsibility

  • Audit and validate payroll files and reports through reconciliation and review to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Administer batch pay entries, retroactive payroll adjustments, off-cycle payments, manual check preparation, and other variable pays accurately within a team environment
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to compile payroll data including garnishments, time and labor records, paid time off, taxes, insurance, retirement contributions, and other third-party payments
  • Upload, document, and transmit payroll files to external service providers to maintain payroll processing continuity
  • Handle general inquiries related to payroll tax, employee tax forms, and garnishments to support employee and management needs
  • Also responsible for other duties/projects as assigned by business management as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree OR combination of education and experience deemed equivalent
  • 2-4 years Related experience working with multi-state payroll, payroll tax or garnishment administration.
  • Experience supporting a large organization (20,000+ people).
  • Experience with Workday, UKG, ADP, Multi-state tax experience.
