SignHealth are a passionate and unique Deaf led charity, committed to creating a future where there are no barriers to good health and well-being for Deaf people. We are currently recruiting for male support workers to join our team in taking on the exciting challenge of providing high quality health and social care support to deaf individuals, many of whom who have mental health conditions. We are looking for independent, dynamic, compassionate and hardworking individuals who are able to support individuals who are living in our community to help them become as independent as possible.

Job Responsibility:

  • Working closely with clients developing supportive relationships
  • Supporting clients in independent skills
  • Providing emotional support
  • Developing personalised plans
  • Ensuring a professional service is maintained
  • Liaising with statutory authorities to fully access new referrals and review, social workers and other professionals

Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate in British Sign Language
  • Knowledge of the deaf community and mental health issues
  • NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or the care certificate
  • Minimum of level 2 British Sign Language
  • Understand the importance of sensitive data and storing data in line with GDPR regulations, care regulations and the CQC
