An excellent opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and driven Band 6 Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our Community Children & Young Peoples Eating Disorder service (CYP CEDS). The Occupational Therapist (OT) within CYP CEDS plays a vital role in supporting young people experiencing eating disorders to regain independence, improve daily functioning, and achieving meaningful participation in everyday life. Working as part of multidisciplinary team, the OT provides holistic, recovery-focused interventions tailored to the development, emotional, and social needs of children and adolescents. You will be required to engage with the wider multidisciplinary team and to work across agencies to deliver packages of care in the role of occupational therapist and/or keyworker and/or caremanager including mental health assessments.
Job Responsibility:
Assessing the impact of eating disorders on occupational performance, including self-care, education, social participation and family life
Developing and delivering individualised care plans that promote healthy routines, re-establish balanced lifestyles and support engagement in age-appropriate activities
Delivering evidence base therapeutic interventions
Contributing to risk management and care planning
Working collaboratively with families and carers
Liaising with schools, community organisations and other professionals
Facilitating group programmes
Providing psychoeducation
Supporting sensory and emotional regulation strategies to enhance recovery outcomes
Contributing to service development, clinical governance and ongoing evaluation to ensure high quality care delivery
