Specialist Nurse - Palliative Care

• Deliver safe, high-quality, evidence-based care within your area of specialism, acting as a clinical expert and role model
• Support assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing management of patients with complex or long-term conditions
• Contribute to the development and implementation of care pathways and protocols based on national guidelines and best practice
• Provide education, support, and counselling to patients and families, empowering them to understand and manage their health conditions
• Act as a key contact for patients, ensuring consistent, coordinated care throughout their treatment journey
• Signpost to additional services and resources to support holistic care

• Level 7 Palliative Care Registered Nurse (Adult, Child, or Mental Health, depending on specialty) with valid NMC registration
• Significant post-registration experience in the relevant specialty area
• Demonstrable specialist knowledge and advanced clinical skills within a defined field
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Postgraduate qualification or recognised specialist training in the relevant clinical area
• Non-medical prescribing qualification (if applicable to role)
• Experience in audit, service improvement, or clinical leadership
• Teaching or mentorship qualification
