Qualified Speech and Language Therapist
Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council
Experience working with children and young people with speech, language and communication needs
Experience working with education partners and multidisciplinary teams
Experience supporting Speech and Language Therapy Assistants
Experience contributing to Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) applications
Knowledge of education processes and policies
Knowledge of NICE guidelines and therapeutic interventions for Speech and Language Therapy
Strong report writing skills

Job Responsibility

Conduct specialist assessments for children and young people with diverse SLCN
Develop and implement evidence-based treatment programmes, measuring and evaluating outcomes to ensure clinical effectiveness
Provide specialist advice and strategies to support young people within the justice system
Provide guidance on creating communication-friendly environments for parents, carers and professionals
Contribute specialist knowledge to multi-disciplinary teams including Youth Justice Services, teachers and health professionals
Produce detailed and accessible reports including contributions to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and court reports
Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills in managing conflict and motivating clients and carers
Develop and deliver specialist training to Youth Justice Service staff, teachers and parents to increase awareness of speech, language and communication needs
Provide supervision, mentorship and training to assistants, newly qualified practitioners and students where appropriate
Support the development of Chatterbug by representing the organisation locally and nationally

Post registration experience within a urology / continence environment
First level degree in a health-related subject or working towards
Demonstrable experience of teaching or delivering training
Qualification and /or evidence of working with adults who have complex continence issues

Work in collaboration to develop a service for individual clients in their own home or in a clinic environment
Work autonomously with individuals to ensure high standards of care are delivered in the promotion of continence and management of incontinence
Undertake clinical procedures, investigations, or interventions competently whilst maintaining a safe, dignified, and confidential environment for the client
Participate in delivering training for the development of others
Maintain a high standard of professional competency within a framework of clinical governance
Always maintain a professional attitude in the best interest of the clients and professionals in accordance with the NMC Code of Conduct
