Job Responsibility:

  • Reporting to Post-Production team Manager, collaborate closely with Technical Writers, Illustrators, Publishers, Information Technology (IT) representatives, software suppliers, and peers to develop Technical Publications Applications
  • Assess end-users needs and document requirements
  • Perform analysis, problem-solving and evaluate activities on upcoming application changes/proposals
  • Support end-user training activities

Requirements:

  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Minimum five (5) years working in a Technical Publications milieu, preferably within an aerospace and/or manufacturing OEM environment
  • Knowledge of Aerospace Technical Publications processes and technologies in the aircraft/manufacturing industry
  • Knowledge of ATA, S1000D or other aviation standards
  • Experience performing document analysis of ‘legacy to target’ XML/SGML data structures, and working with authoring Subject Matter Experts, resulting in new or revised Document Type Definition(s) (DTD) and or XML Schema(s) (XSD)
  • Experience, both as a user and from a technical support standpoint, with Technical Publications content management systems, ideally RWS Contenta S1000D CSDB
  • Experience with native XML data rendering/transformation languages (XSL[T]
  • XSL-FO
  • CSS), as a developer and maintainer, and utilize these capabilities within the context of producing customer-facing Technical Publications, be they online or page-based
  • Experience with RWS XML Professional Publisher (XPP)
  • Experience writing data transformation scripts (SGML-to-XML
  • XML-to-XML), ensuring conformance with new or existing data target structures (DTD
  • XSD)
  • Experience with GIT and Perl software
  • Solid grasp of the HTML basics, such as syntax, structure, tags, attributes, and elements
  • Experience with creating, editing, and sharing PDF documents
  • Experience with ADempiere or a similar Subscription Management System
  • Experience with Typo3 or a similar Content Management System
  • Knowledge of Java and SQL
  • Bilingual (French and English) with excellent English writing skills
