We’re looking for a Specialised Operator to join our team on a permanent afternoon shift, 3:30pm – 12:00am, Monday to Friday. Reporting to the Tool and Die Workshop Lead, you’ll be responsible for CNC production setting and operating, supporting the Tool and Die Division, and ensuring components are machined to the highest standards. You’ll also contribute to workshop activities, maintaining clean and efficient operations, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Responsibility:
Operate and set up CNC machines, including HAAS production mills
Assemble and disassemble components as per instructions
Follow job element sheets and ensure production orders are correctly set up
Maintain cutting tools, holders, and workshop machinery
Support quality control and troubleshoot issues as they arise
Participate in Lean, 6S, Kaizen, TPM, and PPM initiatives
Maintain workshop cleanliness, coolant, oil, and lubrication levels
Plan your work effectively, collaborate with the team, and contribute ideas for process improvement
Promote a safe work environment, including correct PPE use and immediate reporting of accidents or near misses
Requirements:
NCEA Level 2 English or equivalent
Hands-on mechanical knowledge and basic engineering understanding
Workshop experience and familiarity with CNC operations is a plus
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Effective communication, planning, and organisational abilities
Full driver’s license and confidence driving in New Zealand
A positive, team-oriented mindset and commitment to safety
