Job Description:

HammondCare North Turramurra is currently looking for several Permanent, Part-Time Specialised Carers to join our team. We are opening a new Specialised Dementia Care Lodge. HammondCare prides itself on providing evidence-based and personalised care to our elderly residents. We have modelled our lodges to feel like 'home' for the residents in our care. While no day is the same, you will be giving care in multiple ways including personal care, domestic assistance, and engaging with residents and their families. All new staff will complete a mandatory onsite orientation with a Workplace Trainer, have buddy shifts, and be supported by experienced Registered Nurses, Allied Health team, and Managers on site.

Job Responsibility:

Personal care – showering, grooming, toileting, dressing, pad changes
Domestic assistance - meals, basic cleaning and laundry
Engagement with the residents and family members, ensuring they are involved in the activities they want to do
Recognise, report and respond appropriately to changes in the conditions of residents within your skills and competencies

Requirements:

Have a minimum of 1 year experience in Aged Care/Dementia Care
Have knowledge of complex dementia care including challenging behaviours
Be flexible and able to commit to a range of shifts including nights & weekends
Have knowledge & experience of people living with Dementia & their needs
Applicants with Cert III or Cert IV in Aged Care would be viewed favourably
