Job Description:

HammondCare Wahroonga is currently looking for Permanent, Part-Time Specialised Carer – DEMENTIA Carers to join our team. All new staff will complete a mandatory onsite orientation with a Workplace Trainer, have buddy shifts and be supported by experienced Registered Nurses, Allied Health team and Managers on site.

Job Responsibility:

Personal care – showering, grooming, toileting, dressing, pad changes
Domestic assistance - meals, basic cleaning and laundry
Engagement with the residents, ensuring they are involved in the activities they WANT to do
Recognise, report and respond appropriately to changes in the behaviours & conditions of residents within your skills and competencies

Requirements:

Have a minimum of 1 year experience in Aged Care/Dementia Care
Have knowledge of complex dementia care including challenging behaviours
Be flexible and able to commit to a range of shifts including nights & weekends
Have knowledge & experience of people living with Dementia & their needs
Applicants with Cert lll or Cert lV in Aged Care would be viewed favourably
