Job Description:

Dedicated SEN Support Mentor Role - Wirral. Randstad Education is actively seeking a motivated, empathetic, and highly organised Learning Mentor to provide focused support for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This is a full-time, long-term opportunity starting immediately at a well-regarded educational establishment in the Wirral.

Job Responsibility:

  • Deliver targeted one-to-one or small-group academic and pastoral assistance to students with identified SEN
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to seamlessly implement Personalised Learning Plans (PLPs) and embed adaptive teaching methods
  • Help establish and uphold a structured, secure, and encouraging behavioural framework within the learning environment
  • Systematically monitor, record, and report on student performance, engagement, and progress against agreed-upon objectives
  • Act as a reliable confidant, fostering strong rapport to proactively support student's social development and emotional resilience

Requirements:

  • Minimum of six months experience providing classroom assistance, specifically supporting students with SEN, within a UK school setting
  • Must demonstrate a patient, adaptable, and naturally enthusiastic approach
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication, effective teamwork capabilities, and proven organisational skills
  • Hold a current and satisfactory Enhanced DBS check, or show a commitment to apply for one without delay upon acceptance of the role

Nice to have:

Experience with specific support strategies for needs such as Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) or Speech and Language Challenges
