Job Description

Specialist SEN Support Assistant. Do you possess a genuine drive to transform the lives of students with additional learning requirements? We are looking for a motivated, steadfast, and adaptable SEN Teaching Assistant to join our expert academic teams throughout Horsham. You will play a pivotal role in assisting students with diverse complex requirements-including Autism (ASD), ADHD, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges-empowering them to achieve their full academic and social potential.

Job Responsibility

  • Deliver Targeted Assistance: Partner with specific cohorts or individual learners
  • Execute EHCP Goals: Utilise Education, Health and Care Plans
  • Manage Behavioural Needs: Apply uniform techniques to navigate complex behaviours
  • Foster Independence: Enhance students' interpersonal skills and self-reliance
  • Engage in Teamwork: Act as a crucial member of a diverse professional group
  • Provide Personal Care

Requirements

  • Practical experience assisting learners with SEN (Autism, ADHD, SEMH, or MLD) is a prerequisite
  • Reliable: Seeking a long-term placement
  • Tenacious & Empathetic
  • Effective Liaisons: Skilled at establishing quick connections
  • Qualified: Preferably possess a Level 2 or 3 TA qualification or substantial relevant professional history

Nice to have

  • CACHE level 1 or 2
  • CACHE level 2 or 3
  • early childhood studies degree
  • health and social care experience
  • health and social care qualifications (NVQ)
  • HLTA
  • NVQ level 2
