Job Description

Specialist SEN Support Assistant. Location: Horley. Daily Rate: £90.00 - £95.00. Employment Type: Full-Time. Schedule: Monday - Friday (Term Time Only). The Role: Do you possess a genuine drive to transform the lives of students with additional learning requirements? We are looking for a motivated, steadfast, and adaptable SEN Teaching Assistant to join our expert academic teams throughout Horley. This position is perfect for a professional seeking a stable environment where you can cultivate strong, impactful bonds with students and witness their growth throughout the school year. You will play a pivotal role in assisting students with diverse complex requirements-including Autism (ASD), ADHD, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges-empowering them to achieve their full academic and social potential.

Job Responsibility

  • Deliver targeted assistance to specific cohorts or individual learners
  • Execute EHCP goals to facilitate customised learning objectives and developmental milestones
  • Manage behavioural needs using uniform techniques
  • Foster independence by enhancing students' interpersonal skills and self-reliance
  • Engage in teamwork with classroom teachers, SENCOs, and visiting specialists
  • Provide personal care as needed, maintaining student's dignity and wellbeing

Requirements

  • Practical experience assisting learners with SEN (Autism, ADHD, SEMH, or MLD) is a prerequisite
  • Reliable, seeking a long-term placement
  • Tenacious & Empathetic, capable of staying composed in demanding situations
  • Effective liaisons, skilled at establishing quick connections with students, colleagues, and families
  • Preferably possess a Level 2 or 3 TA qualification or substantial relevant professional history
