Job Description

Join Our Partnered Schools Team as a Special Needs Teacher. Make a lasting difference in the lives of children with complex needs. We are currently recruiting Special Needs Teachers to work in our Outstanding Ofsted partnered school, supporting children with severe and profound disabilities in Bristol. You’ll play a vital role in helping students thrive during their foundation years and beyond. We’re looking for individuals who are resilient, compassionate, and eager to make a difference. Whether you’re experienced or new to the field, we offer a comprehensive induction and ongoing training to help you succeed.

Job Responsibility

  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to the needs of each student
  • Develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with other professionals
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to support students’ learning and development
  • Monitor and assess students’ progress, providing regular feedback to parents and carers
  • Work closely with teaching assistants and other staff to ensure the best outcomes for students
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education

Requirements

  • Experience in a similar background (desirable)
  • Experience with family or friends with disabilities such as Autism (ASC) (desirable)
  • Show resilience and confidence in working with challenging behaviour
  • Be able to work 1:1 or 2:1 with some students
  • Demonstrate strong behavioural management skills
  • Have a strong willingness to learn and expand their skillset within this sector
  • Be energetic and enthusiastic with a commitment to inclusion
  • Be proactive and adaptable
