Job Description

The purpose of the Special Needs Ministry at CCV is to provide an inclusive and supportive environment where individuals with special needs can grow in their understanding of God’s love. The Special Needs Pastor will collaborate with the Kids/Students Ministry to ensure that children, teens, and adults are included to the greatest extent possible. The Special Needs Pastor will assist the ministry efforts of the Kids Ministry by providing excellence in the implementation, development, and execution of Special Needs services on the campus.

Job Responsibility

  • Identify, recruit, and train volunteer leaders, following all safety protocols and onboarding procedures
  • Foster personal relationships with families and volunteers through one-on-one interactions, school visits, and active engagement in the community
  • Connect with both new and existing families, offering support and resources tailored to their unique needs
  • Oversee all ministry areas within the Special Needs Ministry to ensure programming is inclusive, effective, and aligned with church values
  • Cast vision to parents about available resources, guiding them on how to engage their children with biblical teachings at home
  • Ensure the ministry is running smoothly and optimally, achieving key ministry goals
  • Create a fun, engaging, and safe environment for individuals with special needs to experience God’s love and grow spiritually
  • Collaborate with the Campus Pastor to increase overall and special needs attendance on campus
  • Lead and empower the ministry team to ensure goals are being met and resources are allocated appropriately
  • Assist in planning and executing key church and department events such as Night to Shine, Dad/Daughter Dinner, Volunteer Appreciation, Easter, Christmas Eve services, Exceptional Stars, Special Needs Camp, and Kids Camp
  • Uphold the vision and mission of the Special Needs Ministry
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with parents, volunteers, and church leadership
  • Inspire and equip volunteers and staff to effectively lead within the special needs ministry
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the Rock system to manage attendance, check-ins, and volunteer scheduling effectively
