Job Description:

Special Needs Assistant Opportunity in Wigan. We are currently recruiting Special Needs Assistants to provide support in primary education settings across Wigan, focusing on creating a positive learning environment and supporting children with a variety of special educational needs.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare resources and activities for one-to-one and small group support
Work closely with classroom teachers and SENCOs to organise tailored interventions
Provide targeted support to children with additional needs
Monitor and track student progress, offering guidance to improve confidence and development
Collaborate with teachers, specialist support staff, and other professionals
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment

Requirements:

Experience working with young people in an educational or SEN setting
Ability to manage challenging behaviours with confidence and patience
Strong communication skills to build relationships with children, staff, and parents
Adaptability, creativity, and a proactive approach to supporting learning
Understanding of SEN and learning difficulties
A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
