Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join our specialist team in Surrey. Our school supports students aged 11-16 who face challenges with social communication, emotional regulation, and sensory processing-typically associated with Autism. With small class sizes and a multidisciplinary intervention team, we provide 'every opportunity to achieve' through a curriculum personalised to each student's passions and needs.

Job Responsibility

  • Behavioural Support: Promote positive concentration levels and adapt your own responses calmly to any escalations or changes in pupil behaviour
  • Learning Support: Implement and adjust learning activities as agreed with the teacher, reinforcing key concepts and providing the necessary resources for lessons
  • Holistic Development: Provide meaningful feedback on pupil relationships and attitudes, maintaining high expectations for their progress
  • Safeguarding: Take full responsibility for promoting the welfare and wellbeing of pupils in line with school policies, including Safeguarding and PREVENT duties
