Job description Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) Key Stages: EYFS, KS1 Location: Saltash, Cornwall Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm Contract: Temp to Perm Start Date: September 2026! We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming SEN school in Saltash. This is a full-time, temp-to-perm opportunity, offering the chance to become a permanent member of staff following a successful placement period. The role will involve supporting pupils within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Key Stage 1 (KS1), working closely with class teachers and other professionals to provide tailored support that meets each child’s individual needs.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a range of special educational needs
  • Assist in delivering engaging and accessible learning activities
  • Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
  • Help maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment

Requirements

  • Experience working with children with SEN, particularly within EYFS or KS1

  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • Relevant qualifications (desirable but not essential)
