As a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant in a secondary setting, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse needs as they navigate their teenage years. Your focus will be on helping students reach their full potential-academically and socially-by providing tailored assistance and guidance. This role is rewarding and impactful, offering the chance to empower young people to become independent and confident learners.
Job Responsibility:
Assist subject teachers in delivering accessible lessons across the secondary curriculum
Foster a positive, mature, and engaging learning environment
Provide one-to-one or small-group support to facilitate student progress
Monitor student development and report findings to the SENCO and parents
Support students during transitions between classes and during break times
Adhere strictly to the school's safeguarding and inclusion policies
Requirements:
A true passion for supporting the development of young people
Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with teenagers
A flexible, resilient, and adaptable mindset
Previous experience supporting individuals with special educational needs (ASD, ADHD, or SEMH)
