Job Description

We are looking for a caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a forward-thinking school in Surrey that provides a holistic approach to education, therapy, and care. This inclusive and dynamic school works collaboratively with families, staff, and professionals to create a supportive learning environment for students with complex learning difficulties. Job Responsibility

  • Provide personalized support to students with special educational needs, working in partnership with teachers and therapists
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, encouraging students to grow in confidence and independence
  • Assist with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies
  • Offer support with students' personal care and mobility needs, where necessary
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students, families, and staff, contributing to a collaborative school community
  • Support the emotional and social development of students, helping them navigate challenges in a compassionate and patient manner

Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs (SEN) is preferred
  • Patience, empathy, and adaptability are essential qualities for this role
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
  • A commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment where all students are supported in achieving their best
