We are currently partnered with a forward-thinking school seeking an exceptional Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) to join their dedicated team. Job Responsibility:

  • Leading the strategic development of all special educational needs provision across the school
  • Overseeing the identification, assessment, and effective provision for students with SEN
  • Building and fostering collaborative relationships with teachers, support staff, parents, and external agencies to create bespoke learning plans
  • Monitoring student progress, analysing key data, and reporting on outcomes to senior leadership
  • Providing expert guidance, training, and support to empower colleagues on all aspects of SEN
  • Ensuring full compliance with all relevant SEN legislation and best practices

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience, with a proven track record in a leadership capacity within special educational needs provision
  • Demonstrated strategic leadership and planning capabilities, with a clear vision for SEN development
  • Deep expertise in curriculum development and assessment tailored for diverse learning needs
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration
  • Strong abilities in team leadership, mentoring, and coaching
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting to inform decision-making
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential
  • Accredited training in specific areas of special education (e.g., Autism, Dyslexia) is highly desirable
  • A management/leadership qualification is desirable
  • NPQSL/H/SENCo or a willingness to achieve this within two years is highly desirable
