We are seeking an inspiring and organised SENCo to join our leadership team at a highly-regarded, IQM-awarded specialist school. Our school provides a highly personalised learning environment for students aged 6 to 19 with a range of complex needs, including PMLD, MLD, SLD, Autism, and ADHD.
Job Responsibility:
Support school management, including recruitment, training, and line management of support staff
Identify and manage high-quality training opportunities for classroom-based staff
Lead target-setting processes and use assessment data to track progress and secure high achievement across all key stages
Organise and implement a diverse, inclusive curriculum and assessment framework
Collate evidence for school self-evaluation and report to governance on school improvement plans
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Proven track record of creative teaching within a special needs environment
Experience in leadership (phase or inclusion) with a focus on raising standards
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences and work collaboratively
Nice to have:
National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCo/NPQ-SENCo) or a willingness to achieve this within 2 years
Experience with ASD intervention strategies (e.g., TEACCH)
Evidence of delivering inspirational professional development or mentoring
