Job Description

Surad Academy is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team. The SPED Teacher will provide specialized instruction to students with IEPs (Individualized Education Programs), collaborate with general education teachers, and lead the coordination of special education services. A key responsibility includes managing the schedule and responsibilities of SPED paraprofessionals to ensure effective student support.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide direct instruction and support to students with IEPs in small groups or inclusive settings
  • Develop, implement, and update IEPs in compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Conduct assessments and progress monitoring
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to implement accommodations and modifications
  • Communicate regularly with families about student progress and services
  • Attend and lead IEP meetings and maintain accurate records
  • Coordinate and manage the daily and weekly schedules of SPED paraprofessionals
  • Provide training and ongoing support to paraprofessionals in alignment with student goals
  • Ensure compliance with special education timelines, documentation, and best practices

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in special education or related field
