Special Education Moderate Needs Resource Teacher role is responsible for designing and delivering effective instruction per students’ individual learning needs, developing and authoring compliant Individual Education Plans, and providing seamless collaboration with general education, families, and the school environment as a whole.
Job Responsibility:
Provide specialized instruction and research based intervention in the areas of academics, behavior, social emotional learning, and executive functioning
Implementation of IEP services and behavior plans
Manage the implementation of IEPs for students on assigned caseloads
Develop and implement an IEP for each student on the caseload
Coordinate all IEP meetings
Complete progress monitoring and coordinate progress reports
Collect and analyze data using multiple assessment tools
Collaborate with families, general education staff, paraprofessionals, and service providers
Create and foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment
Create and support a culture of equity and inclusion
Develop positive relationships with parents/families
Exhibit a growth mindset through participation in high quality professional learning
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree
Must have a Colorado Teaching license with a Special Education Generalist or Special Education Specialist endorsement (former moderate license accepted)
Completed and submitted BVSD online application
Nice to have:
Knowledge of and deep belief in inclusion in the general education classroom for all students, including those on an IEP and/or learning English
