Job Description:

We are looking for an enthusiastic Dentist to join our existing team, providing Special Care and Urgent Care to meet the needs of adults and children in the local community in Chippenham.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide Special Care Dentistry, Paediatric Dentistry, and Urgent Care Dentistry
  • Work as part of the Out of Hours Service
  • Provide assessment, comprehensive treatment planning and treatment for people with special needs
  • Provide dental treatment as required and undertake urgent, routine and complex treatment
  • Provide assessment, treatment planning and treatment of patients in domiciliary settings
  • Promote and maintain patients oral health within NHS regulations
  • Work with the wider clinical team
  • Achieve personal performance targets, awareness of the UDA system
  • Meet Band A Dental Officer Competencies
  • Participate in Clinical Governance Programmes
  • Ensure that standards for Dental Professionals are met as required by the General Dental Council
  • Provide day-to-day supervision of Dental Nurses

Requirements:

  • BDS or equivalent
  • Full registration with GDC
  • VT Number or equivalent
  • Commitment to CPD
  • On an NHS Dental Performers List
  • Significant experience of providing routine dental care
  • Must be a car driver with access to a motor vehicle
  • Regular VDU usage

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with Dental IT systems
  • Commitment to learn NHS rules and regulations
  • Experience working in a Community Dental Service
  • Experience of more complex dental care
  • Appropriate post graduate qualification
  • Previous use of Systems for Dentists Health practice management software
