Job Description

Based in our Pleasanton, CA headquarters, 10x Genomics is seeking a meticulous researcher to join our team. This role is instrumental in developing the next generation of spatial biology tools. You will work at the intersection of molecular biology and advanced imaging, contributing directly to the workflows that allow researchers to see biology in its full spatial context.

Job Responsibility

  • Execute standardized molecular biology protocols and complex tissue-based assays, including H&E staining, Immunostaining, and In Situ Hybridization (ISH)
  • Analyze tissue morphology and structural integrity to evaluate the performance of 10x Genomics assays
  • Utilize imaging software (e.g., FIJI/ImageJ) to capture and quantify high-resolution spatial data
  • Perform data analysis and visualization using Excel or R to document experimental results and drive technical decision-making
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot protocols and optimize laboratory workflows

Requirements

  • Current student or recent graduate pursuing an MS or PhD in Biomedical Sciences, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field
  • 2+ years laboratory experience
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with tissue handling and staining techniques (H&E, Immunostaining, and/or ISH)
  • Experience using imaging software (e.g., FIJI) and data analysis tools (Excel or R) to interpret biological datasets
  • Ability to present technical data and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team

Nice to have

  • Experience with spatial transcriptomics or high-plex imaging platforms
  • Background in histology and/or pathology with an emphasis on tissue architecture
