Job Responsibility:
Plan and teach interactive Spanish lessons, focusing on the four key pillars: Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing
Guide Year 11 students through their final assessments, with a particular focus on improving confidence in phonetics and oral exams
Use authentic resources-from Hispanic music to news and film-to make the language relevant and exciting for Blackburn students
Provide clear, constructive feedback and use assessment data to identify and support students who need extra help
Maintain high standards of behavior and classroom management, fostering a respectful environment where students feel safe to practice their speaking skills
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Degree in Spanish or a related linguistic field
High-level proficiency in Spanish, with a strong grasp of grammar and tenses (Preterite, Imperfect, and Future)
Proven track record of teaching the Spanish curriculum at KS3 and KS4
Ability to join a new department mid-term and build immediate rapport with students and staff
Current Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or a willingness to apply for one)
