Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS), Space Mission Systems seeks an Associate, Experienced or Lead Spacecraft Autonomy Engineer (Level 2, 3, or 4) support subsystem design and verification for Boeing satellite programs in El Segundo, CA. Autonomy Subsystem engineering assignments include requirements definition and flow down, systems design and fault test analysis, systems integration, test, and verification. You will resolve technical issues and ensure hardware and software integration are flight worthy prior to delivery. This role will provide support for autonomous product requirements definition and decomposition, systems design and analysis, systems integration, test, and verification.
Job Responsibility:
Provide support to Avionics subsystem in algorithm development and fault scenarios development process, and In-orbit anomaly investigations
System requirements definition, flowdown, and verification
Spacecraft Autonomy Design (Fault Detection/Response, Mode architecture, System Support functions)
Perform Fault Analysis
Support Fault Contingency Modeling (with stressing failure scenarios in various mission phases)
Work closely with Guidance, Navigation, Control teams for Dynamics and Control simulation as required
Develop mission analysis and scenarios
Support System Design Reviews
Support Flight Software Qualification and Test Case Development
Define and document mission parameters for flight software use, operations, and testing
Participate in cost and schedule reduction initiatives
Launch and mission readiness and support
Define and maintain satellite fault design process writings
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
3+ years of experience working in aerospace, defense, or similar high-tech industry
Willing to travel 10% of the time domestically and internationally
Nice to have:
Experience developing solutions to complex technical problems
Experience working with GNC sensors using MIL-STD-1553, SpaceWire, CAN, LVDS or Ethernet interfaces
Experience in C++, MATLAB, Python, and VBA for algorithm development in general
Experience in simulation and emulation development, test case development, and satellite fault design process writings
Model-based Engineering experience is a plus
