Job Description

This role uses a digital/model-based systems engineering (MBSE) approach to conceive, design, develop, integrate, test, and operate space systems, components, and payloads. As part of a small, dedicated team, you will create and mature digital engineering processes and apply them to diverse space systems and missions. You will assist active programs, instruct others in the proper use of digital engineering tools and methods, work with our business development team to attract new customers, and apply modeling and simulation in responding to government and industry solicitations.

Job Responsibility

  • Develop new and improved modeling and simulation capabilities to meet company objectives, including the use of artificial intelligence
  • Promote and leverage MBSE and other digital engineering tools to support the full system lifecycle
  • Develop models and simulations in support of digital engineering capability demonstrations, space product concept development, proposals, and system design and evaluation
  • Create and maintain digital twins and digital threads for space systems and missions
  • Work with other engineering disciplines to develop lower-level detailed designs and analyses
  • Design, model, and simulate interfaces
  • Perform virtual system integration, verification, and validation
  • Assess performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures
  • Participate in system conceptual design, and modeling and documentation of design concepts
  • Provide and present material for technical reviews and proposals
  • Work with a diverse community of engineers, managers, IT professionals, and business development leads to achieve program performance and business capture goals

Requirements

  • B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other space-related discipline
  • Minimum of 10+ years’ experience in the aerospace industry in an engineering role related to space system development, integration and test, and/or operations
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and SysML
  • Experience with Cameo Systems Modeler/MCSE and Teamwork Cloud (or related Dassault MBSE tools) or other comparable MBSE tool
  • Experience with Ansys tools such as STK, Thermal Desktop, Model Center, Workbench
  • Python programming
  • Deep knowledge of systems engineering including an understanding of space vehicle design, space system architecture development, and space missions and operations development
  • Attention to detail, and strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated in applying engineering principles, concepts, and practices of systems engineering to independently perform assignments
  • Ability to travel - an average of 10-15% travel may be required
  • Must have US Citizenship with ability to obtain a DoD clearance

  • Current or active DoD TS/SCI Clearance
  • M.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other space-related discipline
  • INCOSE ASEP, CSEP, or other Systems Engineering Certification
