Job Description

The Space Systems Engineer at NuWaves RF Solutions is responsible for designing and supporting Radio Frequency and Microwave (RF/MW) products for operation in space environments. This individual will ensure customer requirements are met and provide guidance to NuWaves' internal teams for producing space-qualified products. Individuals must have knowledge of RF/MW circuits that operate through Ku-Band including power amplifiers, RF upconverters and downconverters, RF filters, and low noise amplifiers. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical writing skills.

Job Responsibility

  • Work within an integrated product team assisting in the design of NuWaves’ product development
  • Lead the design of high-performance space-qualified RF circuitry within 12 months
  • Write system and sub-system requirements of RF/MW space systems
  • Capable of deriving the requirements within 6 months
  • Support the writing of technical proposals, status reports, whitepapers, and other technical papers within 4 months
  • Generate a working understanding of NuWaves’ business system within 60 days, with the goal of contributing to system improvements thereafter
  • This includes understanding the company strategy and working within NuWaves’ Quality Management System

Requirements

  • Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (EE) or Electrical Engineering Technology (EET) or related field
  • 2-6 years RF design experience
  • 1-3 years experience designing hardware for a space environment
  • Familiar with industry and government standards for hardware designs used in various space environments
  • e.g. LEO, MEO, GEO
  • Experience with simulating, analysis, design, and test of hardware to meet space requirements
  • e.g. radiation, single event effects, thermal vacuum, corona, multipaction
  • U.S. Citizenship is a requirement
