Job Description:

We are looking for a Retail Space Planning Analyst to join our North American Space Team and play a critical role in optimizing our store layouts and product placement. This role involves using data and analytics to maximize sales and margin, enhance the shopping experience, and ensure efficient use of retail space. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail and proven expertise in space planning tools, with the ability to understand category strategies, and analyze consumer trends and transactional data to strategically allocate space for various products and categories. This role involves collaborating with Category Management, Merchandising and Operations teams to design planograms, improve product visibility, and boost sales.

Job Responsibility:

  • Using space planning software (RELEX) to develop and maintain planograms that align with category strategies and merchandising objectives
  • Analyze sales data and consumer trends to optimize space allocation and product placement across various categories
  • Monitoring and assessing the effectiveness of on-shelf / in-store placement strategies and making necessary adjustments to improve category performance
  • Acting as space management software expert/ power user, having the ability to train other people
  • Supporting the execution of space management projects, including design, measurement, pre- and post-project analysis and presentation of results
  • Working cross-functionally with Category Management, Merchandising, Supply Chain, and Operations, among other partners, to ensure alignment with business goals
  • Conducting competitive analysis and staying updated on industry best practices to continuously improve space planning strategies
  • Providing training and support to store teams on planogram compliance and implementation
  • Maintenance of space planning resource library/repository for the category(ies) under their responsibility

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Merchandising, Business, Retail, Analytics or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience, with at least 2 in CPG Category Management or Retail Space Planning
  • Proven track record of optimizing product placement, contributing to category growth and performance
  • BlueYonder / RELEX or Spaceman space-planning experience (certification is highly desired)
  • Strong analytics background, with a demonstrated ability to seek and use a variety of data (first party, syndicated, etc.) to elevate the space planning function
  • Strong communication skills, with strong ability to synthesize, simplify and communicate complex ideas
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote, Word, etc.)
  • Experience working with floor-planning teams and software is an advantage
  • Ability to thrive in a hybrid environment (on-site and virtual), with teams located remotely
  • Flexibility around working hours required, working with teams across time zones
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-orientated environment
