Spa Operations Manager - Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa (Hotel). Are you a hands-on leader with a passion for wellness and a talent for inspiring teams while delivering exceptional guest experiences? Join the Spa leadership team at Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa, where geothermally heated pools, a traditional Roman-style bathhouse, and a curated menu of massages, facials, and body treatments pay homage to the region’s holistic healing traditions.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide hands-on leadership for the day-to-day operations of the Spa, including scheduling, payroll support, opening and closing procedures, and service coordination, to deliver a consistently elevated luxury wellness experience
  • With a strong front-of-house focus, directly oversee the Reservations Team, Spa Experience Coordinators (Reception), and Spa Supervisors
  • Foster an engaged, high-performing work environment through ongoing coaching, feedback, recognition, and development
  • Support onboarding, training, and continued development of spa colleagues
  • Ensure exceptional guest experiences aligned with brand standards, including seamless guest flow across treatments, thermal amenities, and retail spaces
  • Actively manage guest feedback and service recovery to drive satisfaction and loyalty
  • Partner with the Spa leadership team on SOPs, workflow optimization, and operational improvements
  • Contribute to menu updates, seasonal offerings, and wellness programming
  • Support revenue, labor, expense, and retail performance goals, including merchandising and inventory control
  • Maintain operational, cleanliness, and presentation standards across treatment rooms, thermal areas, retail, and back-of-house spaces
  • Serve as a liaison between spa teams, leadership, and cross-functional departments
  • Participate in leadership meetings and contribute to resort wellness initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, labor regulations, and departmental policies

Requirements:

  • Previous leadership experience in a luxury hospitality environment required, preferably in a spa or wellness setting
  • Degree or diploma in hospitality, business, or wellness-related field is an asset
  • Familiarity with systems such as Book4Time, Opera, BirchStreet, and Microsoft Office is an asset
  • Professional presentation with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Service-oriented personality with a passion for hospitality and wellness
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with guests, colleagues, and stakeholders
  • Results-driven, flexible, and able to perform under pressure
  • Ability to lead by example, foster a strong team culture, and set the standard for high performance
  • Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and variable hours as business needs require
