The Spa Director provides cutting edge advice and makes key strategic and operational decisions for the Spa and Wellness department with regards to treatments and philosophies. Creating, developing and implementing Spa and Wellness treatments and concepts, demonstrating effective retail management, supervises personnel.
Job Responsibility:
The ability to supervise management, and growth of the staff of the Spa
The ability to integrate and encourage growth of spa management personnel of other properties
The ability to assist on project-by-project basis and be a source of knowledge, reference, to their staff
The ability to interview, train, schedule, monitor employee performance, discipline, and complete payroll for all personnel who report to him/her
The ability to monitor the quality and timeliness of all member communication generated by the Wellness Department, including in-house collateral, promotions, mailings, Sports line articles and bulletin boards
The ability to monitor operating supply funds for the Wellness Department and generate necessary purchase requisitions
The ability to participate in all Member Fitness Committee meetings and other hotel meetings as necessary
The ability to convey clear instructions and guidance to staff and establish working relationships that attain a high level of effective employee morale
The ability to respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation
Requirements:
Education in Spa management or Hospitality or equivalent experience
At least 5 years of previous employment in a related position
Experience in a luxury hotel property
Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language
Minimum 5 years management experience in a luxury Spa
Demonstrates superior knowledge of spa, wellness and holistic modalities
Thorough knowledge of 5-star service standards, effective application of spa staffing models, proven ability to create and implement spa service menus, effective retail management, successful marketing strategies, and demonstrated ability to project costs, revenue and to adhere to the budget that supports monthly / annual financials
