The Spa Director is responsible for the overall coordination and execution of spa activities in accordance with the Wind Creek Hospitality Purpose, Values, and Expectations Guide. The Spa Director supervises and assures delivery of an exceptional spa experience to guests. The Spa Director inspires staff to deliver five-diamond guest service at all times. The Spa Director provides sincere service to guests and co-workers through actions that display self-confidence, grace and courtesy. The Spa Director is responsible for assuring that departmental objectives are attained.
Job Responsibility:
Develops a plan to reorganize, re-launch, and operate a life-style wellness centered spa operation
Develops and meets operating objectives and budgets
Develops and implements a marketing and sales strategy that will deliver a constant message centered around “an escape from the ordinary” and increase visits
Leads the facility staff to deliver customers an escape from their ordinary world and assure that the outcome of every visit results in a feeling of belonging and importance for the customer
Develops, maintains, and consistently re-invents a menu of healthy-lifestyle driven wellness programs or variable time lengths that incorporate spa services, culinary instruction, and other programs that can be accommodated by on-staff or consulting instructors
Oversees a dedicated marketing and sales program that is concentrated in key markets and actively participates in resort wide marketing endeavors to stimulate consumer awareness and sales bookings
Maximize retail revenue by offering a strong and diverse line of spa and culinary merchandise
Perform monthly inventories and ensure sufficient inventories are maintained to meet operational needs
Develops and maintains standard operating procedures for facility operations
Recruits, hires, trains and retains an effective and professional staff
Actively coaches, mentors and develops team members
Produces or oversees evaluations for staff
Monitors departmental service levels and assures that standards are met and customer feedback is exceptional
Anticipates, identifies and ensures that guest needs are being met in the best possible way
Keeps staff informed and knowledgeable of pertinent information
Conducts daily pre-shift meetings and departmental staff meetings as required
Generates spa & cooking studio forecasts – weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually and interprets, analyzes and reports on the Spa’s financial performance
Manages labor and operating expenses in accordance to business levels
Manages inventory

Ensures compliance with purchasing procedures
Ensures that accidents and claims are minimized by having staff focused on safety
Ensures that staff is trained on safety and emergency procedures
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements:
High School diploma or GED
Bachelor’s Degree in Related Field AND three (3) years’ experience in a Spa Management position
OR Seven (7) years’ experience in a Spa Management position
OR Five (5) years’ experience in a Spa Management position with Wind Creek Hospitality
Five (5) years of work experience in a 4-diamond caliber destination spa as a Manager or Assistant Manager
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint (skills test may be administered)
Demonstrated executive level writing and verbal communication skills required (skills test may be administered)
Demonstrated prior experience in development of marketing and promotional programs that resulted in measurable positive financial and other outcomes for the company
Demonstrated prior experience as a senior manager in opening a destination spa
Willing to work odd and irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required
Must have a valid and current State Driver’s License and an insurable driving record for purposes of driving company vehicles as required
Must have an Occupational License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) pursuant to the Illinois Gaming Act and remain in good standing with the Illinois Gaming Board as a requirement for this position
