Job Description

Job Purpose/Overview: We are seeking a seasoned business manager to support the Iberia (Spain & Portugal), Italy and Greece franchises, with additional responsibilities to support broader European Markets initiatives as required. The role is part of the Markets Europe Business Execution organization and is responsible for managing the daily operations to ensure the business can operate safely and keeps its license to trade, while supporting business strategy growth initiatives across multiple jurisdictions. Managing local governance and control aspects will be a key component of the role. The incumbent will work closely with the Legal Entity Governance & Controls team and will report to the Head of Markets Europe Business Execution. This position offers significant scope and regional responsibility, requiring the ability to navigate multiple regulatory environments, cultural contexts, and business priorities across Southern European markets while maintaining consistency with European-wide frameworks.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage daily operations to ensure the business can operate safely and keeps its license to trade
  • Support business strategy growth initiatives across multiple jurisdictions
  • Manage local governance and control aspects
  • Work closely with the Legal Entity Governance & Controls team
  • Provide leadership and promote business ties with internal stakeholders
  • Act as the Markets Business Head delegate as required
  • Represent the Markets Business in local and regional fora/committees

  • Execute local controls and investigate operational risk events
  • Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements

Requirements

  • Relevant experience in financial services, business management, risk & control, or related fields
  • Experience in a business management or in-business risk & control role preferred
  • Experience in and/or knowledge of Markets businesses preferred
  • Proven track record of managing responsibilities across multiple countries or jurisdictions
  • Master's degree required (e.g. Business, Finance, Law, or related field)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and processes across multiple geographies
  • Strong strategic planning and presentation skills
  • Experience with governance frameworks, control environments, and regulatory compliance
  • Fluent in English (essential)
  • Spanish fluency strongly preferred
  • Italian highly desirable
  • Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Proven ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders and regulators
  • Consistently develop and maintain effective work relationships across cultures and functions
  • Proven ability to work in high-pressure environments
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize across competing demands from multiple countries
