We’re looking for a Bilingual Sous Chef who can help us deliver the best customer service and food experiences for an Ottawa culinary operatoin. Reporting to the General Manager, you’ll take a hands-on approach in focusing on team development, culinary expertise, safety protocol, and client relations. Our Bilingual Sous Chef will also play a key role in helping us meet budget requirements and execute company-delivered programs. Job Responsibility:
Oversee and take part in food production for the operation
Provide high quality food in a professional and efficient manner
Resolve customer concerns in a timely and courteous manner
Respond to customer inquiries regarding menu item preparation, including dietary restrictions and allergies
Develop and motivate team members by providing culinary leadership and training
Responsible for performance management and incident reporting
Manage and task culinary staff while maintaining accountability and fostering an engaging culture
Responsible for ensuring a clean, safe and healthy work environment and compliance with food safety regulations
Participate in menu planning, including forecasting, ordering and execution
Control inventories by closely monitoring food waste and effectively managing planned usage
Ensure adherence to all of Aramark Policies and Procedures
Requirements:
Must be fluently bilingual in French and English
3-5 years culinary experience is required
A culinary diploma or professional culinary training is preferred
Previous management experience is required
Excellent people management skills
experience training and supervising a team of 12 culinary staff
Working knowledge and training on all health & safety and sanitation standards
